The Love-In is a Nashville-based indie band consisting of Laurel Sorenson, Theo King, and Michael Rasile. The band’s genre-bending arrangements present Sorenson’s incisive lyrical observations and powerful vocals with a chest-out vulnerability towards relationships, racial identity, sex, and culture. The Love-In’s live show is rollicking and raw, tender and touching, and certainly not one to miss.

Their upcoming album Revel (set to be released October 2023) consists of The Love-In’s signature combination of memorable melodies, irresistible grooves, and lush soundscapes, showcasing a diverse set of influences from early rock and roll to modern R&B.

“Sorenson’s vocal range is something to behold. Her ability to harness both powerful pitches and melodic harmonies is wildly impressive, and Sorenson is surely not to be tied down by any one genre...The Love-In truly utilize the full range of musical ability that they have. Every artist is amplified in a different way throughout their discography—allowing all elements of the song to come through and be highlighted.”

“The Love-In has a distinct way of capturing vast emotions.”

– Audiofemme

“They’re a band with the aura of another era, a retro sound that hides its freshness in plain sight…[Laurel Sorenson’s] vocals drive the project well beyond its sonic shell to a superlative level.”

– Ones To Watch

“A gem of originality.”

 – Alt Citizen

“The anthemic single’s upbeat groove, bright guitars, and glistening keys underscore a memorable performance from Sorenson, who uses her all-powerful vocal instrument to make sense of life’s often-rigorous, sometimes-cruel twists and turns.”

– Underground Music Collective on “As It Lays”

Laurel and the Love-In, a bright spot for anyone who’s still bitter about The White Stripes’ breakup. They’ve got a blues-rock sound that channels Elephant and vocals from frontwoman Laurel Sorenson that vaguely evoke Jack White’s.

The Nashville Scene

Laurel & the Love-In bring the best of both worlds with "Gonna Do," the lead single off the upcoming summer sizzler Don't Love Nobody. Rootsy as it gets but not stiflingly so, "Gonna Do" hits the highs with grace and dips low and easy only to blossom back into a spirited outro, all the while driving forward with the determination and experience of several different generations. We're thrilled to debut the track below, and we encourage you to keep watch for Don't Love Nobody when it releases later this year.

Nashville-based Laurel & the Love-In are ambassadors for an aspect of Music City that gets overshadowed by C&W: its deep history of rock and blues. Lead singer Laurel Sorenson’s pipes can caress or scald the listener, as required by the band’s unabashedly old-school and rocking songs.
